Say no to Haringey ‘easyCouncil’ Chief Executive – protest and petition

Posted: October 10, 2012

Haringey Council has announced that it intends to appoint the former Chief Executive of Barnet ‘easyCouncil’ on a salary of £189,440 per annum. Nick Walkley spearheaded a mass privatisation and cuts programme in Barnet and jumped ship before its completion. We do not want Barnet’s costly experiment repeated here.

His appointment is due to be either approved or rejected at a council Cabinet meeting on 16 October.

Haringey Alliance for Public Services is calling on them to reject the appointment and reverse their current policies which threaten our local public services. They have called a protest at the council cabinet meeting on Tuesday 16 October, 5.45pm at Haringey Civic Centre, Wood Green, N22.

For anyone who lives or works in Haringey, please also sign this petition (or see link below) to let councillors know that we oppose Walkley’s appointment and any plans for mass outsourcing of services in our borough.
