Since 2015, the Refugees Welcome Haringey campaign and many local volunteers, community organisations, schools and faith groups have come together to make Haringey a welcoming place for Syrian refugees fleeing war and persecution.
But our government’s ‘hostile environment’ policies prevent many migrants and refugees already here from integrating into our community and getting on with their lives. This situation doesn’t only harm recent migrants and refugees: when our fellow residents cannot live freely and without fear, we are all less safe.
Refugees Welcome Haringey has changed its name to #HaringeyWelcome and we are launching a new campaign to address these problems.
We need your help to ensure our community and council are working to serve the interests of all residents. Join us for:
- Speeches and special guests
- Children’s art competition
- Pledge signing
- Migrant testimonies
- Stalls
- Food
