Haringey against ID cards

Posted: July 30, 2008

The government’s hoped for introduction of Identity Cards over the next few years is the latest in a long line of attacks on our freedom. But, this is one attack too far. Along with the cards which the government hopes we will all carry, they also want to introduce a massive database on everyone in the country. This database will include huge amounts of information on all of us. Information that government departments, police, the National Health Service and even private companies will be able to access. But individuals won’t be able to see data held on themselves.

There is an active campaign against these cards and the associated database in Haringey and campaigns throughout the country. For information about the local campaign, get in contact with Haringey Against ID Cards. Together we can defeat this vile piece of legislation!
